ABOUT THIS SEMINAR

The May 22, 2025, Immigration Practitioner Centre Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Seminar, titled IRB Part Two, is the second of three IRB seminars designed to provide overviews, insights, and practical guidance for appearing before the IRB. Each seminar is four hours long, with additional sessions scheduled for February 20, 2025, and September 25, 2025, for a total of 12 possible CPD hours.

It is important for RCICs to recognize that the IRB’s demand is significantly exceeding its processing capacity. As a result, more RCICs are choosing to seek their IRB Licence to better serve clients in need.

To support RCICs, additional Continuing Education courses have been developed to address specific areas of practice, including:

  • IRB Basics
  • The Immigration Division
  • Practical Aspects of Appearing Before the Immigration Appeal Division
  • Humanitarian and Compassionate Processing
  • IRB Licensing Exam Prep Course

This seminar will feature four outstanding speakers addressing the following topics:

  • Mario Bellissimo, Lawyer/Author – Written and Oral Advocacy before the IRB: tips, traps, and techniques
  • John Edwards, RCIC, LSO Licensed Paralegal –Immigration Division Updates and Practice Tips
  • Anita Bascariol, Lawyer – Immigration Appeal Division Updates and Practice TIps
  • Mojan Farshchi, Lawyer – Human Rights and Refugee Determination.

If you’re looking at accessing Continuing Professional Development Seminars related to the IRB in 2025, then, don’t miss our three seminars on February 20, May 22, and September 25.

You can also look at our Continuing Education Courses that deal with specific areas of practice before the IRB or in preparation for the IRB Licensing Exam.
