ABOUT THIS SEMINAR

The May 16, 2024, Immigration Practitioner Centre Continuing Professional Development Seminar will provide RCICs and RISIAs with current information to fulfill their professional obligations in relation to their Compliance Audit set out in CICC’s Guide for Developing their Consulting and Service Agreements, Code of Professional Conduct, and the Complaints and Discipline Practices and Procedures.

There will be three presenters covering the following topics:
  • Guide for Developing Consulting and Service Agreements


  • New procedures and Portal related to the Compliance Audit and an overview of CICC’s Code of Professional Conduct


  • Overview of the practices, procedures, ruling, and statistics related to the CICC’s Complaints and Discipline processes.

Anthony Cheah

Guide for Developing Consulting and Service Agreements


Anthony Cheah's professional journey is a testament to his versatile expertise, encompassing impactful roles at McMaster University as an Immigration Specialist and Subject Matter Expert, distinguished leadership in an immigration consultancy, and a significant stint as the Chair of the Audit and Finance Committee (AFC) at the Canadian Association of Professional Immigration Consultants (CAPIC), where Anthony demonstrated financial stewardship for the national organization. 

Hjalmar Leon

RCIC, IRB LICENSEE, ASHTON INSTRUCTOR


New procedures and Portal related to the Compliance Audit and an overview of CICC’s Code of Professional Conduct


Hjalmar received a Bachelor of Laws Degree from University of Los Andes in South America, his Master of Business Administration in Global Management from the University of Phoenix in 200, his Professional Specialization in Public Sector Management from the University of Victoria, and he is graduated from Ashton College in the Immigration Consultant Diploma.

David Thomas

LAWYER, VICE CHAIR OF CICC COMPLAINTS AND DISCIPLINE


Overview of the practices, procedures, ruling, and statistics related to the CICC’s Complaints and Discipline processes


David is a Senior Executive, Tribunal Adjudicator (Administrative Law Judge), Mediator, and Lawyer. He was appointed by the Governor in Council (Federal Cabinet of the Government of Canada) upon the recommendation of the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, for a 7-year term as Chairperson of the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, starting on September 2, 2014.
