Join us on November 7, 2024, for the Immigration Practitioner Centre’s Continuing Professional Development Seminar, titled AI Use in Your Immigration Practice. 

This seminar is designed to give Immigration Practitioners a foundational understanding of how AI can enhance their practices. Topics include automating documents and forms, drafting and reviewing legal documents, and staying compliant with evolving laws and regulations. Attendees will also gain insights into the ethical considerations of AI use in legal practice, along with strategies for safeguarding client data through AI-powered cybersecurity tools. 

This Seminar will feature two speakers who will address the following topics: 
 
  • AI Basics; Biases in AI systems and their Impacts; What is GenAI; and Leveraging Generative AI in Immigration Practice


  • Cybersecurity and AI; Ethics and AI in Law; and AI in Compliance and Regulatory Monitoring.

MEET THE SPEAKERS

Eduardo Silva

RCIC-IRB

AI Basics; Biases in AI systems and their Impacts; What is GenAI; and Leveraging Generative AI in Immigration Practice

Eduardo Silva is a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) and earned a Bachelor of Law Enforcement Studies from the Justice Institute of British Columbia. He completed his studies in Immigration Law with the University of British Columbia, and Human Rights and Forced Displacement with the United Nations University. Eduardo is also a certified mediator in Canada, with experience in negotiation, advanced dispute resolution. He is a strategic planning and continuous improvement specialist and has worked for the Government of Saskatchewan in this area for over four years. He has experience working for law firms in immigration and commercial sectors.

Neha Batta

RCIC

Cybersecurity and AI; Ethics and AI in Law; and AI in Compliance and Regulatory Monitoring

Neha Batta is a seasoned Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC-IRB) with several years of experience in navigating the complexities of Canadian immigration law. She holds a Certificate in Immigration: Law, Policies, and Procedures from The University of British Columbia and also holds a Master’s degree in Technology. 

Being an immigrant herself, Neha understands the challenges of moving to a new country and the emotional weight it carries. Therefore, she approaches each case with empathy and understanding, recognizing the profound impact immigration decisions can have on the lives of her clients.
